Fun Family Outdoor Adventures

If you, like many Americans, are ready to get outside after the COVID-19 quarantine, you may be looking for an outdoor adventure. Depending on your activity level before the pandemic, you may have many adventures to go on that you have never experienced before. If you have children, it can sometimes be difficult to find a fun adventure that everyone can enjoy together. In an effort to get you going on your fun new adventures, here are some ideas of how you and your family can enjoy the great outdoors.

Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater rafting may sound dangerous and intimidating, but it can actually be an extremely fun adventure for your family. Most whitewater rafting companies require that your kids be old enough for basic rapids, while more advanced rapids may require that they be older. Most places will supply life vests, which will help to keep your family safe and having a good time.

Slacklining

Slacklining is a fun experience that can be done at almost any park with trees. A bit of equipment is required (a slackline), though once you have one, you can do it anywhere! Slacklining is when you attach a tight line between two trees and then practice walking across it. This is a great exercise for children and adults alike. Once you get good at simply walking across the line, you can actually learn how to do tricks and flips.

Hiking

Hiking is another fun adventure that can be done with children of any age. If you have a baby or toddler, you can purchase a hiking backpack or a baby carrier that will allow you to comfortably haul your child wherever you want to go. Children who can walk will likely enjoy exploring the great outdoors by finding rocks, pinecones, and leaves. They may even want to start a collection! You can hike with your kids wherever you go in the United States.

Ziplining

There are many ziplining companies around the nation that can give you a high-up adventure. Ziplining is usually done in beautiful areas where you can see the landscape from a birds-eye-view. You will need to pay an entrance fee to use a helmet, harness, and other safety equipment, and some young children may be too small to participate. Older children, on the other hand, will have a fun experience they will never forget.

In conclusion, there really is no limit to the number of adventures that are just waiting to be had in the great outdoors. Another fun thing to consider is the changing of the seasons; With new weather comes new fun adventures! Get out there and enjoy nature!
